Estonian airline Nordica’s passenger numbers continued to grow in the second quarter of 2018. Compared to the same period a year ago, more than 36% more passengers flew with the national airline during the quarter. The spring-summer flight period started well for the company, with two new seasonal routes and one year-round route launched.

Jaan Tamm, Chairman of the Management Board of Estonian airline Nordica, submitted his resignation to the Supervisory Board of Nordic Aviation Group AS today, which was duly accepted.

Nordica’s second year of operations was a very successful one: although a loss of around 6 million euros had been forecast for the airline, it managed to earn almost 0.9 million euros in profit. This was primarily due to the 68% rise in passenger numbers Nordica experienced during the year.

Today, on the evening of 26 April Nordica will be flying to Zhuliany Airport in Kyiv for the first time. The second-largest international airport in the Ukrainian capital, Zhuliany is 10 km from the city centre, to which it enjoys quick and convenient access. In addition to daily service to Kyiv Borispol, flights from Tallinn to Zhuliany will take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and from Zhuliany to Tallinn on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Estonia’s national carrier Nordica is celebrating its second birthday this week. Although the airline had started operating flights a few months earlier in November 2015, its name and visual identity were revealed to the public in late March 2016, when Nordica gradually began flying with its own aircraft and crews. It is this date that the company considers its birthday.

Eesti lennufirma Nordica suurendab haaret Hollandi turul ja avab uue liini vana ülikoolilinna Groningeni ja Prantsuse Rivieras asuva Nice’i vahel. Kord nädalas toimuvate lendudega tehakse algust 16. juunil. Suvehooaja sihtkohta lennatakse kuni 6. oktoobrini. Tegemist on juba neljanda sihtkohaga, mida Nordica Groningenist järgmisest hooajast alates teenindab.
